With the Bible and the Holy Spirit to teach us, Jesus has left us with everything we need to live glorious lives as believers. We want to activate the Church to walk in the truth of God.
Founders
My name is Raphael Frohms, and I was born on August 28th, 1984, in Hannover, Germany. I am the oldest son of seven children. My parents were pastors and leaders of an international ministry. Since I was a little boy, I have known that God has a mighty calling on my life. I always knew that it would be some sort of missionary preacher.
During my youth, I went on many mission trips to Africa, Romania, and even South America. When I was 18 years old, I joined the special forces for four years in the German army as a Green Beret Staff Sergeant.
The Lord took me out in a supernatural way, then in 2009, I did my ministry school of 2 1/2 years in the UK under Catch the Fire Ministries in Manchester. After that, I moved to Canada, where, unfortunately, I became for 7 years a part of a Christian cult. As I find myself back in Europe in July 2017, a lifelong struggle with addiction tried to finish my life off, and I should be dead today.
In 2020, I found myself at the central station of Amsterdam homeless, a criminal, highly addicted to drugs, unable to have a normal conversation, my teeth were clinching and I only weighed 60 kg. After 7 days of being awake nonstop, I received a phone call on a Sunday morning from my dear brother Jonathan, who God had spoken to. He asked me ‘Raphael, how are you doing?’ I was honest and said that I have nothing to live for anymore. Two weeks later, I went to Germany, surrendered to the Lord, and after 2 weeks of cold Turkey I was free of drugs.
The Lord was rebuilding my life gave me a dream job and apartment. Then again, two years later, in January 2022, I felt really deeply broken inside, and I was crying out to the Lord: ” Is this everything? I cried out on my knees and said,”‘Here I am, Lord sent me’”. The Lord answered this prayer, he said: Ukraine. Then beginning of March 2022. I was evacuating thousands of people from Ukraine to the Polish border, and I had taken my whole holiday!
As the Holiday was coming to an end, I was on my way to return to Germany. The Lord spoke to turn around. I turned around and continued evacuating people. One night. I will never forget that I was on my way to go to bed, the Holy Spirit spoke very clearly, he told me to call the guy at the train station who made sure that every time I pulled up that people waiting for me to be evacuated. He was not a Christian, but he told me that it was a miracle that I was calling because there was chaos at the train station, and many people couldn’t find a place for the night, and it was freezing outside. He told me that there was a group of orphans that had no place to go, and if I’m able to come. I said yes, and immediately I felt like I had a morning shower and was right awake driving to the train station in Lviv. I will never forget the picture of 13 little orphan toddlers holding each other, crying, without food and just with their clothes on their backs. I put them all in my car and was driving to the border. I turned up the heat. I turned on the worship, gave them my food, and they all fell asleep. I looked in my rearview mirror with tears in my eyes. In that moment, God the Father was asking me: Are you willing to serve me for the rest of your life? My answer was yes.
The next morning I called up my employer and told him that I believe that I have to stay in Ukraine and continue the work. My employer said that’s not possible. You’ve taken all your holiday plus extra and unpaid holiday, and I should return, but he saw that my heart is in this. And they told me that despite the contract rules, he would let me out if I wrote my resignation today. After I hung up the phone, I quit my job, and my apartment brought back the rented van and continued evacuating and supporting people with humanitarian aid.
In the summer of 2022. God gave me a powerful vision. In that vision, I saw myself preaching the gospel from the back of a pickup truck. Since then, more than 34,000 people have received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Many people got healed, set free churches got planted, and thousands of thousands of people received food, humanitarian aid and medical supplies. In the same summer of 2022, God gave me the name for my ministry, “Road to Hope” I know this is just the beginning, and I want to give God all the glory for where he brought me out of and is using me and us.
In 2023, I also met my now beautiful wife, Eline, who is truly a gift of God. I joined River church Netherlands. I got ordained as an Evangelist in 2023 by Pastor Debbie Rich and Pastor Tomi Lehto and licensed in 2025 under my Pastors Ben & Jacky Kroeske. My wife Eline and I are members of River Church Netherlands.
